I recently met a group of print and graphics students visiting Leeds under the EQUAL Community Initiative on a project led by the Regional TUC. This is a significant initiative because providing proper workplace learning services and creating new opportunities for people who might otherwise find themselves unable to break free from low pay and lack of job security is vitally important, both to the people and society.
Applications for projects under the second round of this programme are now being invited and organizations should submit their projects by 30 June. As outlined in the EC Īs guidelines applications must be made by public administrations, non-governmental organisations, social partners and the business sector working together as Development Partnerships. Further information on this funding programme can be found on http://www.esfgov.uk.
This is another example of how European money can help people and the economy in the Yorkshire & Humber region and I hope as many organisations as possible will participate.
